New Growth - Heartache

from $95.00

Signed and numbered paper print designed to hang framed. Every print comes with a certificate of authenticity.

With this series of images I wanted to explore the idea of growth and change and how painful, rewarding and necessary it can be. I want the viewer to feel that the pain they have experienced in life is validated and to think back on what good things in life have come about because of the progress they made during the times they struggled.

In this piece I am using myself as a model, as well as live roses, potting soil and a good dose of Photoshop. I have been exploring self portraiture lately and this piece is part of a series of images using plants exploding from or twining around a human body. I use surreal self portraiture to take a personal experience and make it a universal emotional statement many people can relate to.
