Head In The Clouds
Signed and numbered paper print designed to hang framed. Every print comes with a certificate of authenticity.
When I get into a state of flow when making art, I feel more like a medium than a craftsman. The process feels less like making decisions about what to do to the art than I am allowing it to emerge and develop. When this happens, it’s magical.
I really feel like I am not in control of the art that is coming from me. (I could get in the way of course, but I try not to.) There are moments I say to myself, “You want me to do WHAT? That’s going to look horrible!” But I do it anyway.
Sometimes it does look horrible, but often it doesn’t . It’s a fascinating ride, not knowing what comes next. I am focused on one singular thing, the art, I let go of control, and I feel both calmer and more energized. Like meditation. This piece is a tribute to the “flow state” of art making, when you learn to let go of the product and lean into the process of creating and are rewarded with a feeling of spiritual oneness with your soul, spirit, the universe, and all of creation.
